"Our vision is to present choral music in all its diversity. Sonat Vox offers the audience an extraordinary concert experience with a male choir, a chamber choir and a chamber orchestra."

- Justus Merkel -

Men's choir

Justus Merkel originally founded Sonat Vox in 2015 as an all-male choir and led the former members of the Windsbach Boys' Choir to become one of the most renowned a cappella ensembles in Germany. The shared passion for music and the strong focus on musical interpretation form the basis for outstanding vocal quality. The instrumentation includes not only tenors and basses, but also altos, which results in an unmistakable choral sound.

Chamber choir

The chamber choir expands the male choir to include selected female voices. This makes it possible to adapt the concert line-up to the specific program and thus perform a broad repertoire of sacred and secular choral literature and present both classical and contemporary pieces.

Chamber orchestra

The chamber orchestra complements the musical platform of Sonat Vox to cover the entire spectrum of classical music literature. For the realization of concert series or CD recordings, the ensemble draws on a variable and future-oriented composition of professional musicians from renowned orchestras and is under the organizational direction of Alexander Gergelyfi.

Vocal ensemble

For special occasions, the unmistakable sound of Sonat Vox is also available in a smaller ensemble. Whether weddings, celebrations, receptions or concerts - our vocal group brings the charm of choral music directly to you.
